Perhaps you have forgotten that you were elected to serve the people. Seems you are best at serving yourselves. Most of you have become millionaires during your too many years in the Senate. That can only come from back room deals and playing games with people’s lives. You act in the best interest of those who give the biggest pay out.
And then, if we finally manage to vote you out, we the American people, have to pay you for the rest of your life and give you free health insurance because you make up your own rules. You should be ashamed.
That you have not condemned the rantings of the malignant narcissist in the White House is unconscionable. Your silence is indication of your spineless self-serving agenda and your fear of losing your job if you take him on. Our very democracy is at stake and all you can worry about is losing your job or getting in the cross hairs of a demented, narcissistic lunatic who is on the verge of destroying our country. How dare you! You should all be tried for treason.
I am nauseated by your cowardice and inability to have an independent thought. Your party, actually your cult, lost the election. It is high time to stop kissing the occupant’s ring and acknowledge that it is over. No one stole the election. There was no fraud. There was no conspiracy. The American people exercised their right to a free and fair election. Both the Electoral College and the popular vote went to Mr. Biden. Get over it and do your damn job.
There was a time when the Republican Party was the party of social justice and the well-being of the poor. Now you are the party of misplaced loyalty, self-interest and selfishness. You have put the cult that is the Republican Party before country and big business before people. You have squandered the trust of the people who sent you to Washington to make their lives better.
You have forgotten that you are public servants. You do not exist as an end unto yourselves. You are accountable to the American people, and this American person is tired of your self-serving bullshit. Our democracy depends on you putting your own self-interest aside and acting on what is best for the American people. In the USA, the richest nation in the world, there is rampant food insecurity. Lines for food pantries are longer than they have ever been. People are desperate for relief. You adjourn for the holidays. How dare you?
You give tax breaks to the richest of the rich and then complain that social safety net programs are costing too much money. How hypocritical can you be? I suppose I should stop asking the question, because you are taking it as a challenge. The depth and breadth of your hypocrisy is astonishing.
You are a national disgrace. You and your cronies have made our nation a laughing stock in the world. You have squandered our nation’s reputation as a leader with your willingness to follow the occupant’s “America first” agenda. You have alienated our allies. You have failed to open your mouth and do what is right. Your silence regarding what is best for the country is deafening. Instead we hear your drivel about issues that are of little relevance to the situation of our country in this time. A collective unwillingness to challenge the Senate Majority Leader and his useless legislative agenda is further evidence of your cowardice. Your unified efforts should be directed at providing relief to the American people and creating a national policy for dealing effectively with the Corona virus.
It is past time for you to get yourselves together. The country needs leaders, not yes men and women who kowtow to the lamest duck in the history of lame ducks. Do what you were elected to do; serve the people.
