Every day for the month of November I will post something for which I am grateful. I invite you to join me in this exercise privately or by leaving a comment to share with others. Please share this blog with others and invite them to share this month long practice.
When we live from a place of gratitude within, our energy and being shift, neurobiologists believe it actually rewires the brain. Gratitude regulates the sympathetic nervous system that activates our anxiety response. By living from a place of gratitude we strengthen the mind/body connection. Gratitude causes a physiological response that can help relieve stress and pain, improve health over time and lighten depression.
In short, practicing gratitude can make us kinder more peaceful people.
Today I am grateful for pen and paper and the simple joy of writing.
What are you grateful for today?

Today I am grateful for holiday church bazaars. Since attending them is a traditional family event for me, they bring family closer. They offer unusual and handmade gifts for the holidays, allowing us to avoid big business. Finally, attending them supports the work of the faithful.

Today, November 15th, I celebrate the birth of my oldest son, Matthew. He turned 39 today and it doesn’t seem possible to me – 39 years seemed to have gone by in a flash. Unfortunately, he doesn’t live in RI anymore and I’m lucky if I get to see him 3-4 times a year…but he truly has been the true meaning of his name “Gift from God”. He’s been my golden boy, I couldn’t be more proud of the man he has become, proud of his dedication to his career and my wish today is for God to continue to Bless him and keep him safe. Minus the 12 hours of labor … this day 39 years ago, was one of the best in my life.
